Plantar Warts
Warts are a common infection in the outer layers of the skin which are caused by HPV (Human Papillomavirus).
They can spread to other areas of our body and from person to person. Warts are very difficult to get rid of, as they are excellent at evading the body’s immune system.
Warts may be treated with a variety of different methods, traditional methods such as acid treatments and cryotherapy offer around a 50% resolution. New methods such as SWIFT microwave therapy offer up 83% resolution.
Traditional Salicylic acid treatment is pain-free and requires several applications, the treatment must be kept dry. This is a good option for those plantar warts which are small and new.
SWIFT microwave therapy is preferred for longer standing or larger lesions. Fo more information head to our SWIFT information page.
